Friends,
Greetings from a seaside town where I am cat sitting a gentleman who resembles a magnificent loaf of marble rye. 🍞
As a child, I grew up loving and respecting the ocean as a living god. This is why whenever I get to walk down a beach, go diving in the water, or bundle up in a salty town, I feel that I have arrived home.
It was in this place, between crescendoing cat purrs and under a lunar eclipse, that I heard about what was happening at the besieged Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.
Making art about difficult experiences helps me return to my window of tolerance and process my relationship to reality.
As you can imagine, the work I made about Al-Shifa hospital is heavy.
⚠️ I shared it on Instagram with a content warning of s3xual assault and r*pe. If you are sensitive to these topics, please scroll past the comic below and go to the very bottom of the newsletter, where, as always, a soul spark will be waiting for you. 🩷
May we continue to witness truth, speak about what we see, hear, and feel with loved ones, and sing for those who cannot.
Soul spark ✨
What’s been inspiring me lately
To take care of my soul and therefore remember to laugh uncontrollably, husbae and I have been enjoying Mashle: Magic and Muscles.
If you haven’t heard of it and need a good laugh, please go watch the anime! Here’s the wild and super beautiful opener (Mashle is in love with cream puffs, so that’s what you see in the video):
Leaving you with this week’s #BeamsofBless, a message I write and share every Monday on Instagram.
Rise up, rise up. It’s the start of the astrological new year. 🌟
