I wanted to let you know that unfortunately, some people are ignorantly calling Muhammad's GFM a scam--researching to prove them wrong is what led me here. I was wondering if you have any updates from the Atallah family or anything you want to share to build confidence in this fundraiser? Thank you!
MJ! Thank you so much for finding me here and letting me know about what's happening over on Tumblr. I've been keeping in touch with Ahmed, Muhammad's brother-in-law, on about a weekly basis and communicating with the help of Google Translate. I can provide an update directly on the GFM page as well, but sharing a quick one here so you have it: The last time I spoke to Ahmed was 5 days ago, and thankfully his family is safe. His daughter recently turned 6 months old as well. With the siege in the north however, the situation is getting much much worse. If this helps, before creating the GFM I had a video call with Ahmed and asked to see his identification documents. It's not something I'm proud of doing, but I wanted to make sure that my and other people's support would be going to someone who truly needed it. I'd like to share more, and perhaps you can help me figure out what to include in the update to build more confidence. Can you email me via the Contact section on my website? Thanks so much.
